Crypton Future Media‘s collaboration with Megami Meguri allows the game’s main character, Tsukumo, to dress up in the outfits of Hatsune Miku, Kagamine Rin, and Megurine Luka. Doing so would even open up some fun new conversation options between Tsukumo and the player!
About Megami Meguri
Megami Meguri is a conversational communication game developed by TOSHIBA and CAPCOM Co., Ltd., released for the Nintendo 3DS on December 8th, 2016. The objective of the game is to communicate with and teach new words to an artifact spirit named Tsukumo, who dreams of becoming a goddess. In the game, Tsukumo asks questions to the player, who can then input their answers for Tsukumo to learn and even respond to out loud. This is made possible through the game’s voice synthesis engine known as the “Megami Speak Engine,” with which Tsukumo can actually speak to the player in a surprisingly human-sounding voice (provided by Ayasa Ito) as she memorizes the player’s words and uses them in conversation. In other words, the game is probably the closest thing to actually speaking to and communicating with a VOCALOID!
About the Collaboration
Speaking of VOCALOID, thanks to the collaboration with Crypton Future Media, players can now download Miku, Rin, and Luka outfits for Tsukumo to wear! But the effects are more than just cosmetic; while wearing one of these special outfits, Tsukumo will actually talk to the player about the VOCALOID character whom she is dressed as! Each outfit costs ¥600 JPY (about $6 USD) to download, and was designed by Megami Meguri’s official illustrator, Tarou Minoboshi. While it may be tempting to believe that you’re actually talking to Miku, Rin, and Luka with those outfits, Tsukumo’s hairpiece remains constant in each design, reminding players that it’s still her!
